I grew up in a small agricultural community where everyone knew everyone. Reputation wasn’t an abstraction. It was the only currency that mattered.
I started in construction at fourteen and quit before the summer was over. After being told to dump excavated dirt onto a neighbor’s property, I learned an early lesson about doing things the right way.
After college, I returned to the trades, overseeing high-end construction projects where standards were exacting and mistakes were expensive. That experience taught me to think beyond appearances and focus on how things perform over time.
I later ran a general contracting division, managing large residential projects. While the work was rewarding, I realized my real strength was building exceptional outdoor spaces with clear expectations, quality craftsmanship, and a better client experience.
In 2020, I moved my family to the Flathead Valley and built Rocky Mountain Construction around what I do best: civil construction.
QUALITY MATTERS
I don’t know exactly why quality matters so much to me. Some of it is just how I’m built. Some of it is that I’ve spent enough time in this work to see what happens when it’s done wrong.
The other part of it is simpler: this is a small community. Similar in some ways to where I grew up. Everyone knows everyone, everyone talks. I support my family with this work. My name is on every project. That’s enough reason to do it right.
